Before take-off a lot of preparations are necessary. As Aviation Operations Officer, working for an airline, you will have an important role to play. You will prepare the flight plan and the briefing for the crew explaining:
- the flight route
- national and international regulations
- safety regulations
Continuously keeping in mind the commercial interests of the airline and the shipping agent.
The everyday language for this profession is English.
What will the study be like?
Obviously, English is the international language in aviation. Therefore an excellent command of English is essential. A practical and fluent command of English will give you a significant edge in the aviation market. The ability to converse with ease and confidence in an international environment is highly valued by employers.

- coordination of the flight operations process
- coordination of the load control process
What previous education is required?
Meeting one of these requirements is enough to qualify:
- havo-certificate (higher general secondary education)
- proof of promotion from 3rd to 4th class of higher general secondary education (havo) / Secondary science education (vwo)
- vmbo-certificate (preparatory secondary vocational education) theoretical / combined track
An interview or test may be part of the admission procedure.
