International Marketing & Communication Specialist is a full-time bilingual program. Your lessons are taught in English and in Dutch. The program consists of two to three years of training and internship, depending on whether you choose to study in Hilversum or Amstelveen.

What will the course be like?

In Hilversum, our English-taught program combines the best of both worlds: internationally recognized Pearson BTEC qualification from the United Kingdom and a Dutch MBO level 4 diploma. You’ll study International Marketing units designed to build practical, real-world skills that employers are actively looking for. When you graduate, you earn both a BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma and a Dutch MBO Level 4 diploma. This powerful combination gives you a strong advantage in the job market, whether you want to start working immediately or continue your studies in The Netherlands or abroad.

The program is carefully designed so that every part of your curriculum contributes directly to both diplomas. That means everything you learn is relevant, efficient and focused on your future career.

Delivered over three years in Hilversum, this extended program gives you the time and depth to truly master international marketing, develop professional confidence, and prepare for a successful transition into the workplace.

In Amstelveen, the English program is built around internationally recognised certificates from leading universities and companies, powered by Coursera. Throughout the course, you will earn certificates from institutions such as the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Illinois, the University of London, IE Business School, Google, and Meta.

To graduate, you obtain the Dutch MBO diploma at level 4. The Coursera certificates you collect along the way are an integral part of the program, directly supporting your development and preparation for the final qualification. The course duration is 2-3 years.

The subjects
Many of our lecturers have a background in international business and marketing. For example in branding, social media management, retail, business, marketing and communications. We also work in close cooperation with local, national and international businesses. This guarantees that the content of the program is relevant.

You will start by carrying out customer research. Through this you will gain the following knowledge:

Different types of customers and their preferences
How your products and services can be brought to the attention of people
Ways to inform and surprise your customer to attract business

Er zijn twee soorten mbo-opleidingen: BOL-opleidingen en BBL-opleidingen. Deze opleiding is alleen te volgen als BOL-opleiding.
BOL: school en stage(s)
BOL betekent Beroeps Opleidende Leerweg. Als je een BOL-opleiding volgt, ga je de hele week naar school en loop je één of meerdere periodes stage. Het hangt af van je opleiding hoe vaak en wanneer je stage loopt.

Admission
This is a specific program within the regular course. You will have to meet certain entry requirements to be admitted to this program. Do you not meet these requirements? Then you can enrol in the regular course. For the regular course the following requirements apply:
A document that shows you have passed year 3 of your higher general or pre-university secondary school.
To be successful in this course, we recommend a pass mark of 7 for English.

Determined tuition / course fees
For this course you need to pay the [legally determined tuition / course fees]. Also take into account additional costs for learning materials and perhaps some extra’s.
Learning materials
For most courses, you will need books. A laptop can also be a specific requirement.
Depending on your course, you might also need special software or clothing. During the introduction you will be informed about the materials you need.
Indication costs learning materials
Every year you will pay for the legally determined tuition / course fees. Please find below an indication of the costs for learning materials for the entire course. You will be informed of the exact costs at the introduction.
MBO College Amstelland: € 525,-
MBO College Hilversum: € 800,-
A laptop is mandatory. If you do not have one, you need to buy one. The costs of a laptop are not included in the above costs.
As you will receive two diplomas on completion of the programme, there are additional costs involved.
The costs for the Dutch diploma are appr. € 310,- for the entire course.
In Hilversum: For the extended BTEC programme, there is a once-off payment of € 600,- for the entire course. You pay this directly to MBO College Hilversum. The total costs are appr. € 800,- for the course. You will receive two diplomas when you complete everything successfully.
In Amstelveen: For the Coursera study materials and certificates, there is a yearly payment of appr. € 200,-. You pay this directly to MBO College Amstelland. The total cost are appr. € 525,- for the course including two years of Coursera access and other lesson material.
Extras (not mandatory)
During your education it is possible to attend additional master classes or excursions. Those are not mandatory. Yet they are recommended because they are very educational.
We also believe it is important for you to buy your own learning materials. This makes it possible to practice after school hours.
